On 13 August 1992 International Left-Handers Day was launched. This has become an annual event when left-handers everywhere can celebrate their sinistrality and increase public awareness of the advantages and disadvantages of being left-handed.
You
may not have much time to
organise an event for your
left-handed child but you could
invite a few
right-handed friends to
try using the
left-handed objects (you
do have
them don't you!!) to see just how
awkward you feel
using the
wrong equipment. Have a
left-handed tea party. Or you could
organise games when you
have to use the
left rather than
right hand.
