The Felt Friends kit contains everything you need to make a felt pig and rabbit.
The brightly coloured felt is pre-cut into its animal shape and has holes to guide sewing for younger children.
The pack also contains a plastic needle that is suitable for little hands (and which also prevented disappointment as my sewing box would undoubtedly failed to have produced a suitable needle on a Sunday afternoon!); coloured thread; lots of felt shapes with a self-adhesive backing and plenty of stuffing.
The illustrated instructions were clear and very easy to follow. The only additional thing you need is a pair of scissors to cut the thread!
Tabitha (aged eight) really enjoyed making these: she thought they were great fun. Plenty of adhesive shapes were provided so you can be creative and make your toy totally original.
Another good thing about Felt Friends is that there is minimal mess to clear up afterwards (just the backing to the adhesive shapes and the left-over thread) as everything else is used up.
Felt Friends would make a great gift for children aged up to about eight years old who enjoy making things. As there are two animals in the pack it would also be ideal for a child to make with a friend: it is so straightforward that they can be largely left to get on with it!
