Eat Out to Help Out

Eat Out to Help Out is the government scheme to stimulate trade in the hospitality industry. In participating cafés and restaurants, diners can claim 50 per cent off meals up to £10 per person on Mondays to Wednesdays in August. Some chains are subsidising this and have removed the 50 per cent cap. These include Beefeater, Brewers Fayre, Carluccio's, Ed's Diner and Giraffe.

You can find out which chains are taking place here. Some chains may not be listed so check with the particular restaurant's website or when you are booking.

To find out which restaurants are participating near you the government has created a post code search tool. This is also useful if you are holidaying in the UK. I used it to find restaurants taking part in Southsea and Portsmouth and was delighted to see one of my favourites Brasserie Blanc listed. We reviewed the Southbank venue here

You do not need a voucher to use this scheme and you can use it at the same time as other offers and discounts. There is no minimum spend.

Remember:

  • We are meant to be eating out with members of our household and/or support bubble.
  • Restaurants may ask you for contact details.
  • Book with the restaurant to avoid disappointment.
  • Social distancing within the restaurant should be maintained.

Enjoy your meal.
