I first reviewed Footner Exfoliating Socks in October 2012 when the whole process of removing the hard skin on the feet took much longer so I was interested to try the new, improved formula.
The application process is the same: having removed any nail varnish and on clean feet you wear the Footner Exfoliating Socks with a pair of your own socks over them for one hour. Then wash your feet in warm water to remove any gel residue. Soaking your feet beforehand can speed up the process.
Within one to seven days the hard skin will begin to peel and you should resist the temptation to aid the process by picking flakes off as the skin underneath may be damaged.
The peeling process should take about one week. Although I did as suggested and applied petroleum jelly to the top of my feet, I did still get some peeling there and some skin around my ankles took longer to finish peeling.
Footner recommends usung the Exfoliating Socks every two to three months and you should leave at least three weeks between treatments. I have still got some hard skin so think I would repeat the process. Obviously you need to plan ahead so that your feet aren't peeling on holiday or at a special function.
I would defintely recommend this home treatment.
