Noughts and crosses hadn't really impacted on our household until the arrival of this
jumbo foam set. Intended for
indoor and
outdoor use, it's chunky and colourful.
The
nine squares have to be clipped together like a
giant jigsaw, which is all part of the
fun, and then the
game begins, with hefty
Os and
Xs to be placed on top of the
squares.
Toby, aged five, quickly got the idea of
Garden Noughts and Crosses although it was still gratifyingly easy to sneak a
row of three past him (but probably not for that long).
"It's
great and very big, let's
play again," was Toby's take on the new game! The only fly in the ointment was his sister, Pippa's delight at the
large Xs and Os, which were just the right size to make
giant bangles or biscuits and hence kept going walkabout. Hopefully she'll
learn the game herself in a couple of years and stop being so distracting...
