Daughter Olivia wasn't much interested in trying out the
Hippychick Hipseat but as someone who values her
back, I was ready to
experiment with this new baby and
toddler carrier.
The
Hipseat is essentially a wide, padded,
back supporting belt, complete with integral
padded "shelf" for baby to sit on.
Fitting it couldn’t be easier. It simply
wraps around the hips, is adjusted with a
velcro fastening and secured with an additional
safety buckle tested to the highest
safety standards.
Its innovative
design stops parents from
jutting out their hip for their child to sit on and
twisting their
spine in the process. Instead, the
wearer’s back remains in its natural
straight position with the
Hipseat rather than the parent’s hip providing the
seat for the
child.
By
supporting the child’s increasingly heavy
weight from underneath the
Hipseat instantly makes a child lighter to
carry. From the moment the
Hipseat arrived it was a
huge success! Harriet
loves sitting on what we call her "
saddle" – no guessing who is the horse! – where she is
comfortable and I can
carry her indefinitely as she is suddenly so light!
The
belt has
pockets on the inside – ideal for mobile, money tissues, whatever
small things you need to
carry around. It
packs away neatly under a
buggy so great for those
times when you're out and
baby/toddler just must have a
cuddle!
