As the
snow fell at the weekend, Jack and Lauren became more and more excited about
playing outside in it. It was the perfect opportunity for them to try out the
inflatable sledge that was sent to us to review.
The
sledge itself is inflatable, like a
dinghy, designed for children
aged four plus and weighing up to
56kg. There are two
non-slip handles on either side and the bottom of the
sledge is cushioned and
comfortable, much more so than the
plastic variety. I was surprised at how
strong and sturdy it is.
The children
loved it and it is a really
fun idea. However, there are
no hooks or holes to
attach a rope to and I do feel it would
benefit from being able to do this. Unless you have a
steep hill to sledge down the only way it will move is if someone
pushes – it's much
easier to pull!
The price of
£12.99 is comparable to
plastic sledges currently available and when the
sledge is not being used it can be
deflated so takes up a lot
less space in your garage or shed. It is
designed to be
robust, but comes with a
puncture repair kit just in case.
Overall I think this is a
good idea, but you do need a
steep hill and lots of
snow to get the the
most fun out of it. Would benefit from a pull rope.
