This is a
really nice range of products by
little me organics (which specialises in
organic skincare products for babies with the benefit of
arompatherapy ingredients) - it has
jolly packaging that you can definitely leave on your
dressing table, useful products that you
actually need rather than superflous
cabinet clutterers and at a really
reasonable price.
The
mum-to-be organics range all have rose hip, vanilla and grapefruit as their
key ingredients but the effect of these
aromatherapy oils is actually pleasantly
subtle. And I decided or realised that the
distinguishing characteristic of the range is its "
organic-ness" – which is relevant if you feel your skin is particulary
sensitive at this time, you're being really
aware of what your
body needs and how you want to
treat it or simply that you need to
look after yourself more during these
special 40 weeks.
I loved the
Rich Tummy Cream - it comes in a pot so there is a
pleasurable sensation of scooping it out and then
warming it in your hands before putting it on your skin. The
grapefruit gives a little
tingle to your skin and then you are left with
silky rather than greasy, moisturised skin (I didn't stop at the tummy but
used it all over!). I really liked this as a
moisturiser and used it every night.
The
Stretch Mark Oil is clear so I
wasn't worrying about staining my clothes, quite light and sunk in to my skin relatively quickly. I am lucky enough not to have too many
stretch marks so I can't comment on its
efficacy but I liked it for its subtlety.
Finally the
Luxury Bath Soak was the essence of my discovery of the
pleasure of organic over non-organic products – without all the usual gunk to make
foams foam, I was initially a little disappointed with the
so-called Luxury experience but on
sharing time with the bottle, the
gentle scent and the
undramatic foam, I actually decided I
rather liked this low key, "me time" product. Its everyday-ness and
simplicity can't compete with true luxury brands out there but that's
not really why you would use this range – it's organic, it's affordable and it makes you smile. So
job done.
