I wasn't sure what to expect with the NIO Cocktails – Aperitif at Home Box – but the idea seemed a good way to sample cocktails without having to buy a whole load of ingredients. All you need to add is ice and a slice of whatever takes your fancy.
This box contains five 5 x 100 ml pre-mixed, ready-to-serve cocktails: Negroni, Cosmopolitan, Daiquiri, Espresso Martini, and Tommy's Margarita.
I started with my recent favourite: Negroni. Wow it was perfect. Couldn't fault it. It felt very special to be drinking such a stylish cocktail at home. These drinks are authentic and work out at £6.80 each – much cheaper than in a bar and a perfect way to sample a cocktail without spending a lot of money on different spirits.
Each cocktail is packaged in a square box which is totally recyclable. Select your cocktail, shake the packet, tear open the corner and it's ready to pour. One thing I would recommend is to remove the inner sleeve as there is always more to pour!
