Red Rover game

Recommended for 3+ but of interest to any child from about 12 months, this talking dog asks for the players to find the appropriate coloured bone (or bone with particular number or letter) and "bring it over".

The theory (colour, number and letter recognition) is relevant for a pre-schooler and the game is pretty good quality in terms of robustness, with two levels of play and switches itself off efficiently.

However the concept simply failed to engage my children's attention – essentially it just was not interesting enough to keep them playing and searching for ten bones. My one year old quite liked Red Rover's incessant talking but my three year old didn't even notice when he went back in his box.

PWT rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
