The Story of Life by Catherine Barr and Steve Williams subtitled A first book about evolution and illustrated by Amy Husband, tells the story of how Earth developed from a hot, noisy, scary place to what it is today.
This is a fabulous book to introduce children within the six to nine age range about the theory of evolution. Each double page spread has a timeline arrow beginning at 4.5 billion years ago and ending with today.
The narrative descriptions are particularly appealing to young readers: "wobbly blobs became soft jellyfish and worms" and Amy Husband's illustrations are especially appealing and humorous.
Text and pictures complement each other beautifully in the fascinating book.
There is a glossary of useful words at the end of the book.
Perfect book to add you a young reader's library and makes a good present.
