Enhance a day out or a holiday in the UK by taking part in a Treasure Trail. Great fun for family and friends and you try to find the clues and solve the mystery as Harriet and I discovered in Weymouth Harbour and Dorchester.
We had been introduced to Treasure Trails two years ago in Brighton and last year in Margate so we knew what to expect – the friends with us were new to the concept but their orienteering skills came to the fore.
Your really do need to keep your wits about our and your eyes peeled for the clues but it is so satisfying when you solve them and discover and a place new to you in a town you thought you knew well.
Families can explore all sorts of popular areas throughout the UK with routes that will certainly take you off the beaten track and add new dimensions to a day out as everyone becomes a detective or spy.
Be prepared for a few disagreements – a great way to develop negotiating skills – and you may have to back-track to get to the correct clue but it's all part of the fun. The friends who accompanied us thought they knew their home turf but they also had a few surprises.
Highly recommended family activity and at £9.95 a cost effective family activity.
