Actress Patsy Palmer - Eastender's Bianca – is calling on mums, their friends and family to pull out all the stops to raise much-needed funds for the leading children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent.
Says Patsy:
"I am writing to appeal to mums of all ages to join me in supporting the children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent by getting behind Yummy Mummy Week 2010. This year, the event that challenges mums to get together with friends and host their own fundraisers, has moved to March in celebration of Mother’s Day.
"I
think all mums deserve to have some fun and what better time of year to
make time for yourself and raise money for a fantastic cause? This
year Yummy Mummy Week (which runs from the 6 to 14 March) will be
marking its fifth anniversary and we’ve lots of ideas about how you can
get involved. Why not:
Eat Yummy by holding a dinner party or a coffee morning?
Dress Yummy by hosting your own pyjama party or a dress down day? “Party Yummy” by holding your own garden party?
Feel Yummy by arranging a pamper night?
Go Yummy by doing something active like a sponsored swim or welly walk?
"As a mum I know it is not always easy to find time for yourself, but if you can squeeze one thing in this March I would encourage you to make it a Yummy Mummy event. However you choose to get involved, your fundraising will make a world of difference to the ten families that are told their child has cancer every day. So come on mums, help us and have some fun!"
In the five years since Yummy Mummy Week was launched more than 200,000 mums and their families and friends have taken part and together they have raised more than £1million to help children and young people and their families with cancer.
