My Swordhand is Singing wins the Booktrust Teenage Prize 2007

publication date: Oct 31, 2007
Marcus Sedgwick was today named as the winner of the Booktrust Teenage Prize 2007 for his gothic novel My Swordhand is Singing, published by Orion.

The prize was established by Booktrust in 2003 to recognise and celebrate contemporary fiction written for teenagers. So we asked three teenage daughters of PWT members to review the 2007 short-listed novels.

In the short amount of time we had they couldn’t each read all six books, but their reviews make very interesting reading and so a huge thank you to Aoife O’Neill, Lucy Bairstow and Claudia Minett who read the winning entry.

And, of course congratulations to Marcus Sedwick!
