"If we all make Fairtrade our habit we can play a real part in enabling farmers and farm-workers to end poverty in their own communities,"
Harriet Lamb, Fairtrade Foundation
Fairtrade isn't just coffee and bananas - there is a whole range of products from snack bars and chocolate to olive oil and wine - and every time you make a Fairtrade purchase you are helping to make the world a little bit better.
To help stop the exploitation of third world communitites:
- replace your usual purchases with Faritrade where available;
- encourage any groups you belong to to do likewise;
- suggest Fairtrade alteratives at your workplace;
- campaign for local shops and store to stock Fairtrade goods.
Buying Fairtrade means farmers and farm-workers in poverty-stricken communities can begin to earn a decent wage.
Enable them to help themselves by supporting Fairtrade initiatives.
