Kids in Museums have a manifesto to make museums more child-friendly. Some of the 20 points have already been taken on board by many museums and five have been shortlisted for the Guardian accolade.

The five in the running for the Guardian Family Friendly Museum award are:

  • Dulwich Picture Gallery, London
  • Manchester Art Gallery
  • Shetland Museum
  • Weston Park Museum, Sheffield
  • Wolverhampton Art Gallery

At Parenting Without Tears we are always on the look out for places to include in the Great days out section. So if you are visiting or have recently visited somewhere that you think deserves a mention, why not write a short article about your experiences? Or you could just nominate a museum and we’ll find someone to write about it.

You need to include details of:

  • address and phone number of venue;
  • opening times;
  • prices;
  • plus we’d like a photograph or two.

For an example of a museum review, read Alex Bell’s account of Build it with Bob at the Science Museum.

Submit your nomination or write-up.
