Bambo Nature nappies are one of the increasing number of eco-nappy brands on the market. I wanted to try them out to see if they really are a viable alternative to the leading disposable brands, and I must say I’ve been pleasantly surprised.
They look and work just like a normal nappy, coming flat-packed and doing up with re-sealable fastening tapes. If I was to make one small criticism it would be that the nappies feel quite papery and do not have the same stretch as the disposable brands – this means you don’t get quite the same snug fit and comfort. However, we have not experienced and leaks yet and Eva (11 months) seems quite happy wearing them.
Bambo Nature nappies are made using an environmentally friendly fluff pulp from a controlled Scandanavian Forestry where more trees are planted than felled. As well as being 100 per cent biodegradable (some other eco-nappies are as little as 50 per cent biodegradable), Bambo nappies are kind on your baby’s skin containing no perfumes, lotions or moisturisers.
With an RRP of £11.40 for 50 Maxi nappies, these are a little dearer than the leading disposable nappy brands, but I think it is well worth paying a bit extra to minimise the environmental impact of our baby’s “nappy years”.
