Get Things Done by Robert Kelsey is divied into four parts:
Grounded in solid psychological research Get Things Done published by Capstone, gives the reader a structure for turning good intentions into action.
Author Robert Kelsey helps readers understand why they are struggling to achieve their full potential before discussing how to get in control and on top of things. Most of this applies to the world of work but but much of the advice can be transferred to the domestic setting, especially as so many of us take work home in the form of checking and replying to emails and so on. And much can also be useful in improving our interraction with our children's schools and teachers.
Robert Kelsey quotes extensively from research and self-help and business literature and each chapter concludes with a "Get Things Done" box which sums up the advice given. There's nothing particularly new or original in Get Things Done but the advice and tips are presented in an easy to follow format and conversational style.
Topics covered by Get Things Done include: productivity; goal setting; procrastination and "flow"; tips for planning, getting started and dealing with interruptions; how to get things done on the phone, when using email, in meetings when managing others
and in our private lives; plus dealing with the family.
