As I took my
GCSEs almost five years ago, and have
not continued with French since, I felt it would be good to
refresh my memory and
remind myself of how interesting the
language is.
BBC Active French enabled me to learn in
short bursts if I did not have the time for a
longer lesson, working around everyday life.
Talk 2 French is very
easy to use and understand using either a
laptop or or CD player. The
step-by-step book creates a
straightforward guide to learning the
different topics, letting you
repeat subjects and sections as many times as you wish, at a pace you can manage.
I found
Talk 2 French stimulating and interesting,
focussing on everyday situations and
conversations, which are useful and
contemporary. The topics are easy to
identify with and each one provides
different sections to help you fully
understand the topic,
tenses and circumstances.
The guide's
information is set out in
structured units, improving speech,
writing and reading skills. It has helped me to
express myself more confidently,
clearly and correctly.
At the end of
each section you have the
opportunity to join in an
interactive conversation; there is a
pause for you to
answer the question before the answer is
provided for you to check yours with. One can do this
repeatedly by yourself or even as a
pair, taking on
different roles and checking each other's
answers.The programme
encourages you to experiment with the
French language, pushing you to
new levels of understanding and
increasing confidence.
BBC Active French also provides
online resources.
