Dancers in the Wind is the first book in a trilogy written by Parenting Without Tears founder Anne Coates.
Anne has previous written parenting books and collections of short stories but this is her first full length novel.
Inspired by interviews she was commissioned to write for a national newspaper, Dancers in the Wind explores London in the early 90s when the investigation of a series of murders of prostitutes is is hampered by a news blackout. Hannah a freelance journalist has interviewed a prostitute in the King's Cross area and when she turns up half-dead on Hannah's doorstep their worlds collide with consequences Hannah could never have imagined...
"I policed King's Cross in the nineties and you have captured that time beautifully." Ian Robinson
"The plot was intriguing and the author drew me right in and kept me engaged with a good strong narrative. The setting, the seedier side of London, pre euro tunnel and pre mass mobile phone, worked well and I think with Hannah we have a character who has a lot of scope for future novels. I can’t wait to read the next one." Jenna Medlicott
"Challenges preconceptions you never even knew you were nurturing...
"With its strong plot and the way the reader is made to doubt whether characters can be trusted, this book kept me interested throughout. I also think this story would work well as an audio book.
"This book will haunt me for a while. It made me think about my own reactions to news stories and the preconceptions that can cloud your opinions." Tracey Walsh
Published by Urbane Publications, Dancers in the Wind - a gripping crime thriller is available from Amazon or can be ordered through bookshops.
Death's Silent Judgement, the second book in the trilogy, will be published in May 2017.
