I have always enjoyed “baby wearing” as have all my babies, but it was only when my last sling got broken that I realised how much I depend on them. My son Hector came along when Wilf was 3.5 and Thea 22 months, so he really does just have to fit in with things and as such a sling can be a life saver. I was therefore particularly thrilled to trial the Beco Soleil Baby Carrier, and in fact it is so good that I am glad my old one broke!
The Beco looks like a lot of soft structured baby carriers, but it by far the easiest and most comfortable that I have tried. It comes in a range of colours and designs and my black galaxy one suited me perfectly.
Putting on a sling with whining toddlers and a crying baby can be tricky, however the Beco has straps that cross over at the back making putting it on simple which also makes it comfortable to wear for hours. In fact over the last week it is the only place that Hector has wanted to nap during the day and so I have been wearing it a lot – napping is made even easier for him by the handy detachable hood.
However it’s also good for the baby when he is awake. Hector at just four months has really good head control so particularly likes to be in the side position when we are at the park watching his siblings. It gives the him the benefit of being able to see far better than when facing me. There is even a handy toy ring to attach to his loopy giraffe to give him something to play with, and a brilliant little detatchable bag to hold your phone wallet and a spare nappy or two.
I am yet to try Hector in the back carry position, but I did try his sister who at two thought it was a great treat to be carried up to the market!
Overall the Beco Soleil Baby Carrier is brilliant and I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy one, I really don’t have anything bad to say about it.
