If you are either an
experienced walker or a
recreational stroller who is up for a tough
personal challenge, and you want to do something great for
charity, then look no further – the lines are now open for people to sign up to take part in this year’s
100k London to Brighton walk in aid of
Blind Veterans UK, the national charity for blind ex-Servicemen and women.
This memorable
24 hour walk in June, which is the
charity’s biggest
fundraiser, takes walkers from a starting point in
south London, along the banks of the
Thames, through countryside paths in
Surrey, Sussex and the North and South Downs, which are areas of outstanding natural beauty, and ends at the charity’s centre in
Ovingdean, Brighton where much deserved
food and drink await all.
Blind Veterans UK, formerly St Dunstan’s, provides exceptional
rehabilitation, training, support and recreation to blind veterans, regardless of when they served or how they
lost their sight.
Tracy Stratford,
Senior Events Officer at Blind Veterans UK, said: “We are so very grateful to every one of our challengers and we will be here every step of the way to support them. This includes sending our
walkers regular updates, extensive event information,
fundraising support, training tips and guides, and much needed hot food and drinks on the day.
The
100K London to Brighton 24 hour walk will take place between
Saturday 22 June and Sunday 23 June 2013.
If you would like to take part, contact Jackson at
