Neither Olivia or I drive, but we do use
taxis, minicabs and
friends' cars so we needed a
car seat which would be easily transferable and
safe when we
travel. Plus it had to be
light enough to carry onto trains and other
transport and not too cumbersome.
Having discussed this with situation with
Mark Bennett, Britax's Safety Expert, he recommended the Britax King plus car seat.
We have used this in three friends' cars and as you can see from the photo, Harriet is delighted to be forward facing and comfortable while we are reassured that she is safe and secure.
The Britax King plus car seat is for babies and children from nine months to four years (nine to 18 kg), and has:
- side impact protection
- seat belt tensioning system for a secure fit
- 5-point safety harness
- performance chest pads
- four recline positions
- ventilation channels in the back
- quick remove and washable cover
The seat
weighs 10.1kg and we've found it
easy to install and take out of different cars.
However, if you leave the seat in a car for a long time and have forgotten which lever to pull etc, Britax has come up with the solution – an app for your iPhone or Android which links you to an installation video!
