Harriet made her
first pizza on Sunday! At the
Cantina del Ponte, Manager
Corrado Lamanuzzi knows how to
keep children amused before the food arrives – by giving them a tray with
pizza dough, tomato paste, mozzarella and some
basil. Harriet (20 months) rose to the
challenge.
Corrado's new
family sharing menu is a challenge in itself as there is so much to eat! The
first and
third courses are shared and there is
more than enough to go around. Served with a basket of three types of
homemade bread were a platter of regional
charcuterie, tomato bruschetta and a
crespelle filled with spinach mushroom and cheese
.A choice of
four main dishes, served with
salad, followed. I had the
mushroom risotto (especially made for me without butter) and Olivia had the
salmon. Both were excellent and so was
Harriet's pizza.
The chef's
dessert selection almost defeated us but Olivia and Harriet take their
reviews seriously and tucked into
home made ice cream, pannacotta and panettone with a delicious sauce.
The staff at
Cantina del Ponte were attentive but not in an intrusive way. Other
families looked to be having an equally
enjoyable time. The whole experience was
relaxed and very
satisfying – just what a
family meal should be.
The meal costs
£22.50 for three courses per adult or
£32.50 with a half bottle of Prosecco each.
Children under seven eat for
free and get
complimentary soft drinks with their meal. This
special offer is available at lunchtimes only at
weekends until
31 March, 2012.
