Breakthrough Breast Cancer launches its annual Crocus Walk campaign this spring with a helping hand from property developer and presenter Sarah Beeny. Along with Sarah, the charity is asking the whole country to organise their own Crocus Walk and raise vital funds for breast cancer research.
Organising a Crocus walk couldn't be easier - simply choose a date, place and time and then invite friends and family to join you. The walk could be a stroll in the park or a hike in the hills and can involve a few friends, your work colleagues or your entire community. Whether it's in memory, in celebration, for fitness or just for fun, your Crocus Walk will help Breakthrough move one step closer to a future free from the fear of breast cancer.
There is good evidence that regular exercise helps to reduce the risk of breast cancer and spring is the perfect time of year to get walking. Sarah Beeny has been supporting Breakthrough for several years, she says:
"My Crocus Walk is an opportunity for me to spend quality time with my family and friends out and about in the fresh spring air. Holding a Crocus Walk is a great excuse to get together with your loved ones while making a real difference for Breakthrough Breast Cancer."
