The Echo Spot has just been released.
Echo Spot is designed to fit anywhere in the home. Users can take advantage of second-generation, far-field voice recognition to watch video briefings, see music lyrics, weather forecasts, to-do and shopping lists, browse and listen to Audible audiobooks, and more. All hands-free.
It connects to Alexa, Amazon’s cloud-based voice service to play music, read the news, answer questions, control a smart home, and more.
Users can ask to play a song, artist or genre, and view lyrics with Amazon Music. They can also stream music and books from Spotify, TuneIn and Audible.
Users can utilise the built-in speaker, or connect to speakers through Bluetooth or a 3.5 mm stereo cable. With multi-room music, they can play music on Echo devices in different rooms (available for Amazon Music, TuneIn and Spotify. Bluetooth not supported).
The Echo Spot can be used to control compatible smart home devices: Users can ask Alexa to turn on lights, show baby monitors and front door cameras, lock doors, control thermostats, plugs and more.
Users can call or message anyone who also has an Echo device or the Alexa app, or make video calls to family and friends with an Echo Spot, Echo Show or the Alexa app. With thousands of skills, Alexa is always getting smarter and adding new features. Alexa can track users’ fitness with Fitbit, order a pizza, get train times and more.
