On arrival, my 23 month old Victoria
and I, met with
Paul Lindley, Ella's dad and founder of
Ella's Kitchen. Paul and I briefly discussed the
importance
of starting kids on
different types of foods as early as possible so that they
can
develop a taste for a wider range of foods. Then we dug-in to the
delicious lunch laid out for
us and I was pleased to see that Victoria chose her
sandwich and the
yoghurt
she wanted. My dear Victoria
is a very
picky eater and is not shy to
spit out foods she does not like.
The packaging was to
Ella's
kitchen usual style and uniquely, the
dessert pots are designed to fit nicely
into
little hands who are trying to
feed themselves. Victoria was eager to try the
desserts and to
my surprise didn't spit them out on tasting. The deserts were
very tasty and the
perfect size for her
pint size
tummy. Furthermore, the
consistency was
good allowing Victoria to easily
feed herself without the
yogurt dripping off
the spoon.
The
desserts are flavourful
without
the added sugars, preservatives, gluten or artificial favours. I found all three – the
fromage frais,
rice puddings and yoghurts to have a rich,
smooth texture and filled with
wholesome, all natural, good quality ingredients. It seemed the
Ella's Kitchen team had thought
of everything whist they were putting this healthy dessert range together. After eating the
yogurt Victoria set her
sights on heading outside with the
animals, and quickly made her way to the
door to explore the
City Farm.
Ella's Kitchen new desserts can
be bought at
Tesco with retail prices ranging from £1.09 to £1.89. My one wish would be that the
Ella's Kitchen
desserts had a wider range of flavours. Nonetheless, in the meantime, I would
certainly purchase
Ella's Kitchen new desserts; they are in Victoria words
"
yummy".
