I have been
cursed with ruler-straight limp hair and have never had much luck curling it – nor been overly pleased with the results. The Enrapture Encode Totem Styler and the Amplify Jumbo Waver curlers have been a
revelation to styling and heat extremely quickly and curl the hair within
seconds – enabling one to get ready quickly – especially as I usually only have
about ten minutes between Harriet’s bedtime and leaving the house.
The Encode Totum Styler boasts a titanium
(known for its flawlessly smooth finish, heat distribution and fast heat
recovery) plated totum barrel to wrap the hair around in three independently
heated zones. Each zone has its own temperature control enabling the styler to
create the exact look they want.
Using different combinations the hair could be
styled in tight to loose curls, loose to tight and variations in between. One
can create many different looks using this styler, from glamour to bohemian and
I was extremely pleased with the results – it was such a glorious change to
have voluminous hair! To prolong the curled effect I think adding a hair spray
afterwards is a good idea and the style guide also suggests straightening the
hair before curling to give a smoother finish.
The Amplify Jumbo
Waver is slightly more difficult to use on one's own hair, but again heats and
curls quickly and effectively. I think this styler would be better on thicker
hair as you can get more hair done with each curl process. The ultimate look is
more bohemian or rock-esque.
Both stylers have a three meter
professional swivel cord – which prevents the user from getting tangled up and
enables a quick and easy hairstyle to be completed without the worry of the
cord getting in the way! The tip of both stylers has a protective cool tip to
prevent accidents. Both include a small stand and a heat resistant pouch which opens up so the styler
can be placed on mid-styling without worrying about burning the any surfaces!
Although I preferred the results of the Encode Totum Styler on my hair, both stylers are a good investment, and create a perfect change to your style for "when everyday hair just isn’t enough".
