Fish tail plaits
are the perfect low maintenance style for women on the go! As seen on catwalk shows such as Jean Paul
Gaultier, pulled-out messy styles as seen at Prada this summer and at Giles' Autumn Winter show.
Fish tail plaits can be worn very neatly with a high gloss shine, wet look or loose and messy. Whichever way hair will look fabulous and once the style is practiced it is very easy to achieve. When the technique is mastered these plaits can be incorporated in small sizes throughout down and up hairstyles.
1. To begin, work in some hair gel for a very on trend wet look plait, alternatively begin with wavy hair for a messier, sultry look.
2. Divide the hair into two equal sections.
3. Hold the right section with your right hand and using your left hand take a small section of hair from the outside of the left section and cross it over to the inside of the right section.
4.
Repeat on the other side. Hold the
left section in your left hand and with your right hand to take a small section
of hair from the outer right section and cross it over to the inside of the
left section.
5.
Continue taking small sections and
crossing them over until you reach the ends of your hair.
6. Secure with an elastic and spray with Leo Bancroft Secretly Styled firm hold hairspray. For a high shine evening look, spritz with Leo Bancroft Gloriously Glossy shine spray.
Leo's top tip: To ensure that the style stays "grown-up" continue plaiting hair to the end of the length of the hair.
