FunMats is a great way to
raise money for schools,
nurseries and the like by using
children's artwork to produce a range of items from
coasters to
chopping boards.
To see how the
production side worked, I thought Harriet could make her
Mother's Day present. When I received the
starter pack I was a bit disconcerted by the
smallness of the piece of
paper Harriet had to produce her
artwork on. As you can imagine being not quite two,
miniature drawings are not really her forte!
However by using other
paper to cover the part we had to fill in with
name and address, we succeeded in getting a
colourful impression on the paper. I sent it off
first class post and although I'd expected to
wait ten to 14 days it arrived back very quickly!
The finished product – the
chopping board – looks great and Harriet looked
suitably impressed with her output.
We have a
FunMats competition for seven lucky
winners who will also be able to reproduce their
child's art into a
perfect gift and there are details for
schools and
fund-raising groups.
