What happens when you are a
dragon who is supposed to be
frightening and mighty but only want to be
gentle and kind? Well you get banished from
dragon mountain, of course but if you're really lucky you'll be
befriended and taken in by
Alric, the blacksmith's son. And so it happened to
George who put his
fire-breathing to good use in the forge...
Life was wonderful for
George and Alric until the King sent a knight to look after the village. Unfortunately
Badwick the knight lived up to his name and hated
dragons so George had to leave the village. Sad and lonely
George lived in a cave away from his friends until the time came when he showed
immense bravery, saved the village from Badwick and faced his
own demons.
I rather liked the
illustrations in
George and the Knight. Sue McMillan and Ellie Jenkins have created a
moral tale and tell it well. It's not the most
original story in concept but it will please
young readers.PWT rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ George and the Knight is published by
Far Far Away Books and is available from Amazon.
