Grandma Bendy is a little
morality tale but don't let that put you off!
What is so charming and engaging about
Grandma Bendy is the pictorial content.
Izy Penguin has a wonderfully
creative style that is absolutely child – and parent –
friendly. Each page has so much going on in the
pictures, that there's loads to
talk about so that the
narrative is almost incidental.
Harriet adores having this
book read to her and loves discovering what the
little mice are up to on each page, and finding
Grandma when she's hiding.
Grandma Bendy is also great for
beginner readers and the text is clear with none of the intrusive – and superfluous –
capital letters that seem to find their way into
children's books.
