I love the idea of many juices but then find that they are actually sweetened and so aren't pure juices. So was happy to see a new 100 per cent pomegranate juice POM Wonderful on the market. This is presented in a single serving bottle but as I usually dilute I did with these. Billed as a post-workout refresher, a mid-morning beverage or a beneficial juice option to accompany your family’s lunches, I found the the two bottles I was sent enjoyable but I can't vouch for its healthy claims. Definitely worth a try and available in Waitrose, Ocado, Marigold and Whole Foods (RRP £1.59 190ml).
Another product we are trying out – more long term – is the probiotic formulas from Bio-Kult®. The Infantis formula comes in easy to dispense sachets and can be used even for breastfed babies by putting the powder onto the nipple. Harriet – who is often non-compliant taking anything – has not noticed Infantis being added to her breakfast. Olivia and I have been taking the adult capsules as a food supplement but they are also useful when pregnant, taking antibiotics or for travellers. Bio-Kult® contains live bacteria to complement the existing gut flora found in a healthy person's digestive system. Apparently it's great for the immune system so I'm hoping it will help with out eczema outbreaks.
A good health supplement we've been sent is Seven Seas Perfect Woman 7 that contains B6 to help regulate hormonal activity, B2 contributes to maintaining normal vision, Zinc for skin and nails. Biotin for hair, Magnesium for energy and DHA for brain function. You take one tablet and one capsule a day with a cold drink. Personally I'm a great fan of fish oil supplements. You can try the simple Omega-3 test to measure your level at Seven Seas website.
