When
Hoppity Bunny arrived at our house I had two very
excited children. Scott (two) grabbed it and went running off with it shouting "
coool" but thankfully he then decided that "Here Lexa you can have it, bunny rabbits are for girls" – no idea where that came from but hey it stopped the
potential fights!
Alexa (aged one)
loved it from
first sight and poor
Hoppity was shoved straight into her mouth whilst she crawled to a corner to inspect it in peace.
Hoppity is 36cm tall so a
reasonable size but not so big that it takes up loads of
space, for Alexa it’s
easy to carry (both in her mouth and her hands) or for me to just
pop into my bag or jumper pocket when we’re off out.
Hoppity is ultra soft thanks to being made from
top quality soft Boa and his paws and inner ears are made from a material called
alcantara which
Aston Martin use as a
seat trim so it must be
good quality! It also comes dressed in a
woven fabric top that is pink with
grey hearts on it which can be taken off and interchanged with clothes from the rest of the
Hickory Shack range of the same size.
Hoppity had a slight mishap when he got thrown up on but both he and his top survived a "bath" and looked
good as new again.
Alexa seems to like
playing with his feet and bum(!) as she can feel the little
plastic pellets through it but I understand that these are in
double-lined pillows and have been
double stitched to ensure
absolute safety for little ones.
Another
safety feature incorporated into
Hoppity Bunny is the fact that the
eyes and nose/mouth are
stitched in. Whilst the
eyes are visible, the nose/mouth is pretty much invisible – to the point where Scott asked me why the
bunny doesn’t have them.
At £17.95 I think it is a bit
expensive for a
soft toy but my daughter
really loves it so in that case it would be
money well spent. PWT rating: ♥♥♥♥♥Air Puppy : Hickory Shack Hoppity Bunny is available from Amazon at £16.
