All the main guest rooms in this beautifully appointed hotel have an extra chairbed for a youngster but if you have more than one child holidaying with you there are family suites situated in another building. Here you will also find paddling pools and play areas for smaller children.
Children aged under 12 must be accompanied by an adult in the main pools which older children will find more fun than the dedicated children's pools. There's a kiddies' playroom for children under six (who must have an adult with them) and plenty of room in the hotel grounds for kids to let off steam but Lake Garda is only a few minutes' walk away where you can enjoy the "beach".
There's also an abundance of child-friendly restaurants (just as you would imagine as this is Italy!) for you to choose from for lunch if you and any room left after breakfast!
The extensive buffet breakfast caters for all tastes and even the pickiest of young eaters should find plenty to whet their appetite among the hot and cold dishes which include a range of breads and pastries, cereals of every kind, familar as well as the more exotic fruits and juices. High chairs are available if you need them.
For dinner there's a children's menu. Young diners can choose from home made mini pizzas, macaroni, classical lasagne, a small ecalope with ham and cheese and french fries and crunchy fish sticks among other children's favourites. And the ice cream, I am reliably informed, is to die for! The waiters and staff are absolutely charming to older and younger guests alike.
The starting price for a week half-board at the four star Hotel Caesius Thermae Spa (with flights from the UK and transfers) is from £639 per adult and £383 per child.
There is a free excursion for a child up to and including 12 years when an accompanying adult books the same one.
