Helping
children to ditch their stabilisers for good, the
Learn to Ride programme will provide children, aged
three years plus, with a
safe environment in which to learn the basics of
bicycle-riding with
BikeRight trained instructors, while
mum and dad can sit back and relax.
Learn to Ride will be available for the
2011 season at six French parcs, including:
Les Deux Fontaines and
Les Menhirs in Brittany and
Les Sablons, Club Farret and
Cala Gogo, all in the Languedoc region and
La Torre del sol in Catalonia.
On day one,
budding cyclists get to learn the art of
balance using specially created
Zoom bikes, while on day two they’ll get to practice their new skill and
learn to pedal and brake. Finally, on
day three, it’s time for some fun – all finished-off with a
certificate for all those that complete the course.
Why not get your kids on two wheels at the lovely
Les Menhirs in Southern Brittany this May half-term. Not only does this superb parc offer
Learn to Ride sessions, there’s also a fantastic
swimming pool complex with slides, plus activities including
canoeing and
pony-trekking.
Once your little ones have fully mastered
balancing on two wheels, the famous standing stones at
Carnac and the
Breton coast are both just minutes away and perfect for
exploring on bikes. Out and about, there’s plenty to see, from the fascinating sea life at the
Aquarium de Vannes, to the animals and birds at
Parc de Branféré and
Château de Suscinio, a majestic 13th century fortress.
Seven nights from 28 May for a family of
two adults and up to
four children staying at Les Menhirs will cost
£472, including a return
Dover to Calais ferry crossing.
Keycamp
cycling lessons will be available to book through
on-parc couriers. Sessions of
one hour will run once a day for
six days and are
free of charge.
