Sandy has been using a
Mini Micro Scooter
since the age of two - and even before that, if you count the endless times in
the playground when he ‘borrowed' scooters off other kids who clearly didn't
really want to share. So the
Micro
Scooter challenge was definitely something he knew he could win.
Like many families with young children the
Mini
Micro Scooter has proved
invaluable when it comes to getting from A to B. It makes "boring" time spent walking
more
fun, even for the
most tired legs, whilst giving young children
independence
from the
buggy. And they are the
hero of
the
school run!
So how would Sandy's
scooting prowess fare racing against his dad, David, on a
Micro
Sprite Scooter?
Ok so the
Mini Micro Scooter has the
three
wheel stability and the experienced Sandy at the helm. But the two wheeled
Micro Sprite Scooter, whilst
in the hands of the
inexperienced but
highly competitive dad, is clearly built
for
speed. The jury was out until we hit
the
streets of south east London...
Sandy decided that he wanted to
race around
the "block" before heading to the
park. As predicted Sandy was
off in a flash with
David only really
gaining on him in the
uphill sections of the circuit. On the
pavement both
scooters proved
easy to
manoeuvre and coped well with the
uneven flagstones and manhole covers.
Next we headed to Goose Green for some
"dragstrip"
racing. The boys had a great time
racing
along the green. Sandy's sheer
speed
(and dad's tired leg) made him the undoubted
Micro Scooter champion.
However, impressed with his dad's "moves",
Sandy wanted to try out the
Micro Sprite too. With a
quick and easy adjustment of the height of the
handle bar he was
off, taking to the
two wheeler immediately, and allowing his
younger sister to
have a go on the
Mini Micro. Smiles all
round! Even I got to whizz along on the
Micro Sprite. Ok maybe I wasn't going
that fast but it felt speedy. And
despite my
initial reservations I found it surprisingly
steady and easy to
balance.
Good exercise too.
So our
verdict – we already loved the
Mini
Micro but with the
Micro Sprite you can keep up with your young scooting or
cycling kids, whilst having some
fun yourself.
The versatility of the
Micro Sprite means that it can be used by children
from the age of five to slightly more cautious grown-ups like Mum and Dad. We are definitely converts – top marks for
family fun!
