The second book in the
Parenting Without Tears series is about
discipline in the family. It will cover all age ranges from dealing with
toddler tantrums up to
stroppy teens.
So while I am
writing this book, if you have a
question or a concern you'd like included, do
contact me.
You may be worried that you
shout too much or that your
partner is too strict, that your
children are disrespectful, or perhaps you'd just like some
reassurance that you're doing the right thing? Or need some strategies to cope with
sibling rivalry?All these
topics will be covered in the
book, but I'll answer any
concerns you may have by email.
Parenting Without Tears Guide to Living With Teenagers has had some great reviews:
"This book includes some very reassuring info -
there is real science behind some teen behaviours - especially the
risk-taking and the long lie-ins. Each chapter has a useful checklist -
especially useful for those in a hurry (aren't we all?). Best insight?
when you teen tells you "everyone else's parents are letting them do X"
it's generally not even nearly true. I found that one out the hard way.
Preferable to read it first..." Lesley Lodge
"The biggest problem with the relationship between a parent and teenager
seems to be that the teen feels like they are not being listened to and
they are misunderstood, therefore I found the last chapter on
communicating with your teens particularly helpful."
Lindsay A
"I found that when I was reading this
book I was putting myself in the role of the teen and thinking of the
kinds of things I did when I was that age and found that Coates' advice
was simple but effective; as a teenager I would have responded well to
her suggestions." Miss S
