Polarn O. Pyret has created clothes that allow children to be children for 40 years. Since their first striped t-shirt in 1976 they have always had a child’s perspective in mind, the brand have challenged gender roles and stacked environmental labels on top of each other.
Polarn O. Pyret’s clothes are smart, functional, bright, playful and durable. The brand sees harsh weather as a challenge to make stronger and better clothes that stand up to wilder games and more adventures.
Over 30 per cent of the range is organic and the brand prides itself on providing unisex colours and patterns that can be handed down easily.
From the softest organic cotton baby bodysuit to highly functional ski jackets every detail is considered with family life in mind. Coats that children feel comfortable in, adjustable waists in trousers, cuffs that roll down for growing room, babywear that can handle hot wash after hot wash. These are just some of the details that make a difference.
For review we were sent their nautical stripe dress is a fresh take on a classic. Made from 100 per cent soft woven cotton (an absolute must for Harriet's sensitive skin), with a bit of weight so it hangs beautifully, it is finished with a stylish contrasting crochet waist band. Harriet loved wearing this and received lots of compliments. It is perfect for teaming with a cardi for summer outings, family parties and holidays.
The dress features one back button and concealed zip. We had size age six to eight so the dress finishes slightly below the knee, allowing for growth. The dress washes well at low temperatures but can be put in 60ºC wash when needed.
