The Shoe Aid for Africa campaign, which finished on Child Povery Day, is supported by shoe care experts Kiwi who will cover all costs of the campaign to ensure the shoes are givenneed to those who them at no cost.
On 20 November Kiwi representatives wrapped up warm and helped to sort thousands of pairs of shoes into 30kg bags of children’s and adult’s foorwear - checked to ensure they are in good enough condition to be sent to Africa.
Over 20,000 pairs of shoes weighing a huge ten tonnes have been kindly donated. Once the sorting process is finished the shoes will be sent to Mozambique in the New Year.
The shoes are being sorted at the Planted Aid UK warehouse in Corby, Northamptonshire. Planet Aid UK is the British member of Humana People to People, born from Development Aid from People to People and is a global membership organisation, which at present comprises 32 national associations working in 40 countries.
