How do you like your
pizza? Rabbit shaped?
Vapiano in Southwark Street welcomes
children of all ages and loves to introduce them to the delights of
Italian cuisine. Harriet saw for herself how they make
pizza and tucked into a
dish of olives while she waited for it to cook.
Olivia sampled the
Bruschetta, then she had the
Carbonara and I the
Arrabbiata. What makes this
restaurant so different is that the
meals are cooked at the
station you queue at and you can add or subtract
ingredients you want more of or don't like. The
pasta dishes come in four price groups ranging from £6.75 to £9.75, similarly the
pizza. There are also
specials to choose from and a
salad bar.
Another innovation is the "
chip card" you are each given on arrival – you
swipe this when
ordering your food and drinks. This is perfect for
friends dining together but paying separately. This also means you can let
older children sort out their own food.
The
seating area is
well spaced (great for
families with buggies and other paraphernalia) and there are various
table heights with
high chairs to match.
Harriet loved wandering around and investigating the
dried pasta displays.
The
Vapiano philosophy is
relaxed lunching/dining – perfect for
families and for friends enjoying a meal together.
And with the
chip card there'll be no arguing over the
bill!PWT rating:♥♥♥♥♥For international locations visit
