I love coming out of winter into spring but one downside is the increased light and sunshine shows up the cobwebs and even I, loathing housework as I do am moved to "spring clean". The job has been made easier by the arrival of a new vacuum cleaner – the Vax Air™ Lift (Steerable) Pet Upright. This is one powerful machine.
The previous Vax we reviewed was a slim cordless so it's taken me a while to get used to the extra weight and build of the Air™ Lift Upright. Assembled from the box within a couple of minutes, this machine has a ten metre long flex and you know it means business.
I tried it first on the carpet by the door. I was astounded at the amount of dirt, cat fur etc which could be seen in the bagless receptacle. The Vax works well on hard floors and there's an extra boost button to clean deep pile carpets. The cleaner is easy to use with "steerable technology" which allows you to manoeuvre around and under furniture.
The lift-out cylinder makes it perfect for use the on stairs and hard to get to places and the machine come with a crevice nozzle and a powerful Turbo Tool which is especially useful for getting embedded dirt and pet hair from chairs and sofas. The HEPA filter technology captures 99 per cent of dust and dirt.
I found that this vacuum cleaner performed well on picking up just about every type of dust and dirt that can end up on floors in a family home.
