The Worlds Apart
Pop Up Sun Tent was delivered to us for
testing on one of this summer's
rare sunny weekends. It was the
perfect opportunity to road test it at the
beach at
Camber Sands, in the
park and at home in the
garden.
This pop up
Sun Tent is
great - it's incredibly
easy to use, compact, packs up
nice and
small and is a
fun place to play in. And
crucially, it has a
sun protection factor of
50+.
Our
active toddler was
delighted to play in the tent
with friends, three easily fitted inside and it was the
ideal place for them to
eat picnics away from
sand and the
midday sun.
The
tent is supplied both with
pegs and
corner pockets which can be
weighted. However, it has a
secure structural frame so we only needed to
peg it to avoid the
coastal winds stealing it away!
The tent has a
wide door which makes it
easy to see what's going on
inside but
independent toddlers were keen to “close the doors mummy!” for a little
privacy which wasn't an
option with this
design.
It is a nice bright red and
blue with silver inner and has a
groundsheet that extends outside the
“front door” for play. There is a
small window in the back which was a
popular feature and provided necessary
ventilation. The fabric is
good quality and the thick nylon seems
durable. The
carry-case makes the item
easy to take out and about on its
shoulder strap.
I would have no hesitation in
recommending this pop up
sun tent. It is one of those
purchases that's
worth making when your
baby is little as it will become a
familiar part of
family sunny days out,
garden play and many
indoor role-play games. For Toby it was also a
very popular indoor
camp set up for numerous
make-believe picnics, parties and
rocket ship adventures.
