Upon
arrival at
Park Resorts at
Camber Sands, apart from the entrance gate getting stuck, all seemed fine and the
girls were fascinated by the
caravans. Reception gave us the key to our
stationary home and we drove round to unpack.
The inside of our
holiday home
was spacious, which neither of us expected. The
living area had adequate
seating and
space for the girls to play and came with a TV. The
kitchen provided
basic utensils which were in
good
condition with many pots, pans, glasses and mugs.
We had to bring all our
own
food, towels, washing up items and
toiletries, which we expected. The
bathroom was clean - and after calling the
emergency security to get the boiler
working, the
shower was brilliantly hot! There was
no bath so both the girls
had to shower, which neither overly enjoyed.
The
downside to the
holiday home was the very limited
bedroom space. We had
requested
two travel cots which were not there when we arrived so we returned
to
reception who explained that most people put the
cots in the l
iving area. I
think this is something that should be
reviewed by the park as this would
definitely
not have worked for us.
I know that
some parks have a
foldaway bed
in the
twin room, which would enable a
cot to be put up in there too.
Reception
offered to move us to a
bungalow, a grade down from the home we
had. Although the
bungalow was fine, we chose not to endure the
upheaval of
moving and try the girls in beds. I slept in the
double bed with Harriet and
Liv and Evie shared a
twin room. Both girls fell out of bed.
In
all the
rooms the
curtains were very
thin and I made
makeshift blinds out
of towels to make the rooms
darker at bedtime for the girls.
With hindsight I would have taken more
towels, as we were using the same
ones for both
pool and
showering which wasn't ideal (especially as Liv and I were
using ours as
curtains too!).
We
had
lunch on our first day in the
restaurant/bar. The food was
reasonable and
the service
acceptable. We also joined in with the
lunchtime quiz, which we
won! Liv looked delighted when she took to the stage to collect our
certificate. The girls both got
stickers too which I thought was a
nice touch.
Other
then that we
self-catered and the
supermarket was well-stocked and
competetively priced.PWT rating: ♥♥♥♥♥There are 39
