buries the body of his best friend Danny whose death sets off a
chain of events that will take young Jack to the
brink of death on several occasions.
Three
powerful men enter his life but who should he trust?
Professor Stackpool a phrenologist who claims the
bumps on Jack's head mean he will always be poor and ignorant? The kindly
Dr Willis who offers him a chance to go to school? Or
Sir Lionel who gives him a
job in a very strange household?
Both boys and girls aged
eight to 13 will get
