At first I wasn't too impressed with
Goodnight Digger by
Michelle Robinson and
Nick East but it soon became a
favourite with Harriet (aged two and four months) and gradually I could see why.
A little boy leaves a trail of
discarded clothes and in his "digger" pyjamas tidies away his
toys saying goodnight to each. There is a dreamy
fantasy sequence as the little boy pilots his
chopper, drives his
tractor, navigates his
boat and then works his beloved
digger before snuggling down into
bed with his teddy – and digger!
A
charming story, beautifully illustrated, perfect for
reading any time of the day!
