Madagascar 3:Europe's Most Wanted: 'So, so, so funny. It's a
great film," said Toby (aged eight). Pippa (nearly five) chipped in with "Yes, I agree!" Pippa giggled delightedly all the way through
Madagascar 3 and to be honest Jon, Toby and I also enjoyed it enormously.
Madagascar 3 is a true
family movie – funny, energetic, with a
great script, fabulous characters and a pace that makes the time fly. Old friends from
New York's Central Park Zoo – Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, Gloria the hippo and King Julien the ring-tailed lemur - meet a cast of
new characters as the friends struggle to make their way back from
Africa to America via Monte Carlo!
The
adventure starts when travelling through
Europe the animals find perfect cover in a
travelling circus which introduces us to the great new characters: an Eastern European tiger who leaps through tiny, tiny hoops, a big bear on a little bike and a slinky Italian jaguar.
The
chases through the streets of
Monte Carlo are fabulously frenetic and had Toby and Pippa in hysterics as the villain of the piece, a
Cruella-type French policewoman with some excellent moves, tries to capture the friends. There are also some
stunning circus scenes choreographed to
Katy Perry.
The penguins continue to
entertain and there are lots of laughs for adults and children. We really enjoyed this film and would compare it to
Kung Fu Panda (high praise) in its
fabulous animation, comedy and storyline.
Highly recommended by the whole family.
